Applique Thursday!

Cobblestone Lane Block 6

I finished the Blanket Stitch on this block.  I have one more duplicate block to go.
If I'm brave enough, I might try to accomplish fewer stops and starts as show in the video below.
There were lots of threads to pull to the back and tie off many of which I had sewn over.  It looks a little like a flat birdsnest on the back.
Maybe I created a new thread design....smile.

As suggested by Wendy over at Ivory Spring, I used YLI silk thread.  I loved this thread and already had plenty on hand for my hand applique.  She said you can just use normal thread in the bobbin.
She also has great tutorials for machine applique.

GREAT block! I love doing blanket stitch on the machine. It really is faster than doing it by hand, lol.

Your block is wonderful, I loved watching the videos as I learnt a lot from it. Thanks for adding it.

I sure wish I had these directions and video before I did my first appliqued quilt by machine. (that I just finished) You would have saved me a ton of time in tie-ing off my stitches. Thanks so much for sharing this. What thread are you using in the video? It has a look of thicker thread then what I used. Thanks again!
