Applique Thursday on Friday, Secret Santa, and a Win

See I have been working.  I've made one little tiny pinwheel.  Can you see it in the middle?  These little squares in the 9-patch pinwheel are 1 inch each finished.

We did Secret Santa this year on Stroll the Block group.
Carol in Delaware sent me this beautiful wall hanging.
It's just lovely and better in person.
Thank you so much Carol.  I just love it!

I won the lucky monthly bundle on SewCalGal for playing along on the Free-Motion Quilting Challenge.  Look at all the wonderful goodies, and I still have gloves to come.  I do believe we all won doing this challenge.  Even though I have much more to learn, I surprised myself with my brain and hands working together....some of the time.....giggle.

Thank you SewCalGal for the Challenge!

I still have a great deal to learn, but have enjoyed trying.
Below are all of the blocks.

This is a finish of sorts for me!!

November FMQ Challenge

November's practice.  I personally don't see any improvement except that I'm not as stiff in the shoulders....giggle.

This just ain't my bag, but I will persevere.  It looked better before I took a picture of it.  I'm sure it's not me just distortion from the camera.

I like that story and I'm sticking to it!
LOL

Another Blanket for Elly - FMQ for September

What a mess!  I didn't even pull all the paper off.  This skill is beyond me.  I also couldn't figure out how to do this without going over the same lines again and again.
Which I guess doesn't matter because I couldn't keep my lines steady anyway.

Elly loves all my scrap sewing.  It goes directly in her bed.  Of course, most of the time she's on Big Mick's lap.

Free-Motion Quilting for July and How do you blog again??

My July FMQAL

  I started (bottom left) better than I ended (top left), but it was kinda fun.  If my brain didn't short out in the middle, I might be able to do this.

Look who liked my FMQ the best.  Elly has a new toy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Grand Kids were here for 10 days, and then Mick and I took a mini vacation at Coushatta.
I'm having to figure out blogging again.  Phew!  I can't wait to see what the 70's bring....65 is kicking my butt.
My FMQ Rats Nest and our Giant Road Runner
Hmmmmmm.  I'm hoping the FMQ learning curve will kick in soon.
Now for my new favorite picture of our giant Road Runner.
Wow.  He's big.
Don't forget to go see....
April FMQAL
April FMQAL at SewCal Gal
Pattern drawn on Tulle.
I was sure that Mick told me he bought a yard of this tulle.  Yes, ladies he took it and got it cut while I was shopping.  After I drew it, I realized I had the tulle doubled in the hoop.  Next time I'm turning on the light on my worktable.
:)
Picture 1
Some of my marks are still showing.  I guess the purple dried up from having it so long.  So I found a blue one called Marks B Gone.  This will be a good test to see if the marks really do disappear.
Picture 2
I tried to shade this picture  with the editor to help it show up.
I couldn't figure out how to sew this all at once.  The outside of the little buds are sewn separately.
Here's the back.  If you click on it and make the picture bigger, you can see where I have little knots all over it.  Definitely need to take the time to pull the threads through and not go over one spot too much.  I'm not sure how good I could do on a big quilt.  I did take advantage of the size and turn the fabric around to make it easier to sew.
My stitches seem too small.  Guess that means I need to move faster.  I'm happy enough for a first try.
FMQ for March
You'll probably have to click on the picture to see my 'lack' of design....giggle.  I actually drew some lines and couldn't follow them, so I just moved it around and tried to echo....echooo....echoooo.
It's just the echos of my mind........ladada (Midnight Cowboy for those to young to remember).
This may not be my thing, but I'm going to continue to practice.
Yucky feathers and a Beautiful Sunset.
Trying to learn FMQ.  This was the practice from SewCalGal
This is actually white fabric with cream thread.  I altered the color to try to make the stitching show up.  Join in at SewCalGals.  Yours won't look any worse than this.....giggle.
It's a brain thing and I've used up my brain!
Thursday night's susnset.  It looked like the sky was on fire.  Actually scared me a little bit.
