One Monthly Goal - June

Cobblestone Lane by This & That

Wow!  I found another unfinished quilt top with lots of parts.  By some miracle, I found the pattern stuck between some papers.

First I'll have to figure out whether I had a problem with it, or something new and shiny just took me away.

Our baby birds flew away today.  I thought Big Mick was going to cry.

A couple of photos.

We thought there were 3, but we actually had 5 babies.  Not sure how they all got in that tiny nest.

Cat Patches: Occupy your Sewing Room

Barbara from Cat Patches challenged us to spend at least 8 hours in our sewing room
between Dec 3 - Dec 10.
I made it!!!

Hop over to Barbara's and see what everyone else did for their challenge.

I finished all my rows of the Cobblestone Lane BOM, but I
didn't get the rows sewn together yet.

Another view.  Big Mick helped me lay it out....Thanks Mick!

Monday, Monday.........BOM........and my Sweetie!

Busy cutting sashing, borders, and background pieces........hmmmm
I hate handling any fabric larger than a fat quarter.....weird I know.
Still more to go.

Here's my sweetie!  Taking good care of me.  Of course, this means he gets to golf.  Tonight he made me baked spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread....yummy (no picture).

Applique Thursday!

Cobblestone Lane Block 6

I finished the Blanket Stitch on this block.  I have one more duplicate block to go.
If I'm brave enough, I might try to accomplish fewer stops and starts as show in the video below.
There were lots of threads to pull to the back and tie off many of which I had sewn over.  It looks a little like a flat birdsnest on the back.
Maybe I created a new thread design....smile.

As suggested by Wendy over at Ivory Spring, I used YLI silk thread.  I loved this thread and already had plenty on hand for my hand applique.  She said you can just use normal thread in the bobbin.
She also has great tutorials for machine applique.

Cobble Lane BOM progress

I finally got all these little pieces cut out for two identical blocks.
They are being guarded by the only puppy I have left.
This sweet dog was given to me by my friend Kate.  Yes, is nose is missing.
It kept falling off, so I put it in my drawer so one of the grandkids wouldn't try to eat it....LOL.
They were still young when it fell off.

When not guarding my fabric, he spends his time on the window seat looking for squirrels

This WASSSSSSSS the plan.

This is what's on my wall and my planned BOM for this week.
I got the fabric yesterday, but am feeling a little puny after our trip to Kinder.
Maybe I'll be better tomorrow.

Cobblestone Lane Block 5

Cobblestone Lane from This & That
Sherri K Falls

My fabric is Aster Manor from Moda

Wow!  I haven't worked on this pattern since May 2010.  How quickly time flies when you're having fun.
For this BOM you make two of each block.  I'm still working on the second block.

Enjoy your Monday
