Today a Block....

Yesterday I sewed two 1/2 inch seams on my Dear Jane block A11.  These block may be my undoing.....grin.  Not far to go for that though.

I decided I needed to see some progress of some kind so I sewed Block 9 of the Layer Cake Sampler.

I finished a block....doing the happy dance.

Maybe I've gone over the edge.

A Valentine Chair????

Last Wednesday Mick and I went out to eat and decided to mess around a couple of stores before going home.  We went into Staples and bought a new computer chair.  

He put it together yesterday and said,

Happy Valentines Day!!....giggle.

Since I spend most of my day in it, I guess it's better for me than chocolate .

I'm actually cooking today.  I know that's a SHOCKER.  After all, I am retired.

I'm making the fake recipe for Southwestern Soup.  It's not as good as it was at

Chili's but it's soup with tortillas.

Anything Mexcian is fine with me.

I'm Starting to Breathe Again..............phew

Today Mick comes home!  He's been taking care of a flu-sick granddaughter.  It's true!  He got a flu shot and I didn't so he left me behind..... :((((  Sweet Isla is allllll better.

Our pup Sammie would wait by the window everyday starting about 5:30 thinking Mick would soon be coming home from golf.

Won't he be surprised today!!!!!!  I can't wait either.....grin.

I finally finished my M-11 DJ block, scanned it into my computer, posted it in the Jan folder on the DJ yahoo group and discovered a small tear in the fabric. (insert appropriate swear word here)

I will pray it disappears.  Sometimesssss miracles happen.....grin.   If not, I guess I'll redo it later after I've had some more experience with  DJ.  In other words, I'm sick of this block.....LOLLLL.

Almost looks like a clamshell design....grin.

I stayed up late last night, checked again at 4:30, and never actually saw snowflakes.  It gets pretty dark out here.  I did see small sleet.  I guess Santa brought the snow flakes after I was snuggled in bed with my stocking cap on.

Cold in Texas!!!

Since I rarely go outside anyway, it hasn't been tooooo bad for me.  It was 17 degrees this morning.  Texas has been using the rolling blackouts for about 15 minutes at a time.  I guess there was too big of a demand on the electricity.

My Mom is 90 and pretty cold natured anyway, so she wasn't too happy about the blackouts.  She and her neighbor timed theirs and it lasted 45 minutes.  She let the electric company know all about it.....giggle.

Good thing is Big Mick cooked a pot of Chili............hmmmmmm good.

Everyone stay as warm as possible out there.

Garfield belonged to my daughter Shelley and my oldest granddaughter Isla, but

was loved by many.  He stayed with us for 6 months and Big Mickie cried when he and his buddy Lady (dog) went back to Shelley's house.

Shelley got Lady from a rescue place and Garfield was a neighbor cat that adopted Lady.  What a pair!

We'll miss you Garfield.  Have fun in Kitty Heaven!
