Elly (formerly Tabico)

2 years 2 months and 18 days

Our newest addition.  She definitely has a voice. The look on Elly's face reminded Mick of our sorely missed black and white cat Elliott....thus the name Elly.

:))))

I Really need to learn how to hold the camera...

straight.  Cropping can only do so much....:)))

Applique Thursday

Finished my 13 Chain blocks, but have a few boo boos on a couple of them to fix.
This is usually where I stop on a quilt.  I'm not stopping on this one, but will be taking a little break.

The Sampler Society #14

Block 19

Mick really thought I ought to get that sewing machine humming again, so these guys below would hear the noise and know there was no lunch here.

No!  Not just one.

The whole family wanted lunch.

Buzzards are so gross.

But then this little guy sang us a sweet song.

Applique Thursday

Block 12
Bunny Hill Snowbound
(Click on the picture for a closer look.  The wings are stuffed and are free to fly)

The applique part of this quilt has been so much fun for me.  I've truly enjoyed this journey.  Now to the rest of the blocks.  I think I might have found the right fabric to finish the top.
We'll see.

Thank you Angie for starting me on this journey of Applique on Thursday.  I have two projects in mind for Thursdays.  Not enough hours in the day unless your name is Sharon V....giggle.

In the Grand Scheme of things....................by Lynn

In ancient times in the 70's maybe 80's, everyone used to talk about your biorhythms crossing over the line.  In a nut shell, it meant you might as well forget everthing until it finished crossing over the line.  Above or below the line was okay.  Just watch out when it crossed.  I think mine is tuck on the LINE!!.....just sayin'.   (NO I don't believe in this stuff...hmmmm)

I can't believe there are even places online to check your biorhythms.  The chart definitely showed me in trouble when I tried to stitch in the ditch.  My biorhythem was on the line, but my stitching was not....LOLLLLLLLL.  Yes  I'm definitely over my sewing mess.....maybe....Yes I am over it!

Lynn posted,  We are always so hard on ourselves when it comes to quilting.  In the grand scheme of things, it is the overall effect that makes the impact....and only you will know where something went a little goofy.  I love this Lynn.

This basically applies to my whole life.  Yes at 65, I'm still self-critical.  I can still see my Dad expecting perfection from the three of us.  (To myself)    Get over it already Billlie Beth    (giggle)  Still love you Dad but what were you thinking??

Yes, I'm just now crossing over that biorhythem line OR maybe I'm getting ready to cross over????  (tongue in cheek)  Either way today I'm happy and I will NOT rip all that mess out.....I will NOT...I willllllllllll......................................

This guy was Huge!!!

...and he was staring at me big time.  I also saw a hugh bee in the back of the yard that may have a hive in an old tree trunk.  The bee was at least an inch long and very yellow.  Annddd I saw a giant, not hugh, but giant black wasp that was as big as a hornet, but not a hornet that I've seen before.

ANDDDD  we thought the foxes were gone.  Mick was getting a hoe out of the storage house and heard an awlful noise.  Momma fox was snarling at him.  He apparently woke up the babies living underneath.

Summer is here and I'm staying in the house!!!  I'll see the neighbors in the fall.

The Sampler Society #14

Block 20 chosen from Quilters Cache

I'm not a happy camper.  As most of you know, I've done very little actual quilting.  I'm average at handquilting, but Suck at Machine quilting.  Well I tried again.  I took so much time with these little blocks and was finally satisfied with how they turned out.  I should have left them as a flimsy.

But nooooo, I stitched in the ditch.  I have learned I can't stitch straight or in a ditch or any where else without Green Eggs and Ham.  My little red block got all twisted up and some of the lines on the other blocks or out of the ditch more than in.

:(((((

Everyone have a great Weekend!!

Sew Spooky!!!, 2012 NewFO Challenge, and Applique Thursday

I've been hunting through all my fabrics for some possible oranges and blacks.  I just bought this cute pattern and buttons for my next "Start" and "Applique Thursday" project.  After I received it, I realized that there is also a fabric pack of cute items for the sidewalk and doorways.  Yep.  I had to have that as well.  It should be here in a few days.

Mick's bucket garden

This was several days ago.  We now have too many red tomatoes.  I'll be making Miga's tonight.  That should take care of a lot of the small ones.  Mick has done a wonderful job.

To My Twisted Sisters

My friends over at CyberQuilters4-C-Bees yahoo group are working on The Twister quilt as their bucket list project this month.

You gals just twist away!

Nature has it's Way....

The storm before last did some pruning for us.  It looks like a good tree, but the base was one big hole.  We had it marked to cut down.
Vince of Judy's Patchwork Time blog said these grasshoppers bite.  Yuck!  I didn't touch it.

And are you ready for this???  An actual bloom in my yard.

More Pups!

(Click on the pictures for closeups)

On the first photo if you look to the left, you'll see one more eye looking.  We have seen 2 pups.
Probably won't be any sewing here until after dark.  I'll be running to the window look for the babies...grin.
