Rescue Me and a Giveaway

Rescue Me!

Post about your rescue kitty and enter the giveaway.  Click on the Rescue Me link above and go to Lily Pad Quilting to enter the giveaway.

My sweet rescue kitty is Elly.

This was Elly's Mug shot on the Shelter page.  Who could resist that sweet face.
They said that Elly was so timid that she needed to live in a home without children and other pets.
That was us!

I must admit she is NOT timid anymore.  When the grand dog Lucky comes to visit, Elly gives her a really bad time.  Lucky just finally gives up and goes to sit in her cage.

She looked much smaller in person.  Look at that tiny cat.  She was already two.  She had been spade and something went wrong so the shelter had her in a foster home.

She has filled out a little and seems a lot longer than she was....giggle.

So cold.

I taught her everything she knows about sewing.

She's my shadow and really hogs the bed.

Do we rescue them or do they rescue us? I just noticed she has a notch in her ear. Funny how the little ones hog the bed.

While I don't have a shelter cat, I have one that was a "throw away" from one of my son's ex-girlfriends she needed to move on, and did't have a way to keep the kitty any more.

i love those white mittens. Every one of the many cats we have had were rescued from the street. They never made it to a shelter. Now our dog, Nikko, is 12 but nearly 11 years ago my kids found a filthy starving puppy dumped in a parking lot. No animal deserves that kind of treatment.

She looks very mischievous. A little bit like our Abby...same white feet and obviously also a bit of a contortionist.

Our little KC was a rescue kitty from my boss. Her hubby had fed the feral kitties and they had the great grandma, grandma, mom, daughter. My granddaughter and KC connected. My boss couldn't take care of anymore, so we got a local vet and animal organization to trap, neuter, spay and clip their ears. She agreed to continue to feed them and take care of them. I am happy to say she hasn't had a new kitty in almost 3 years! KC has gone from hiding all the time, to sitting on my lap, laying on the bed or my sewing chair, she rings the bell to go out and eats the dogs food and they lay together! We weren't cat people until she came into our lives and she shows us she loves us by bringing us moles and mice!

Toadie, my rescue cat, came from a fancy family in the Austin Hills and had 3 loud ear shattering kids, so he came to me partially deaf. He learned sign language. Then a few months ago he went blind and deaf. He still eats well, weighs well, and is a love bug that can turn into a tooth chomping Himmy in a instant. I have a new bite on my left hand. Do not have a current picture of him-but I still love him and he gets along real well with his whiskers as a
built in radar, he walks in some squares to get where he is going but he knows where the bed is, where the food and water and liter pans are, and he seeks me.

She's so cute! I've had two shelter cats for 7 years, and before that I had two shelter cats that both lived to be 22 years (not all that time with me). My Chloe looks a lot like your Elly, has a clipped ear, and does all the same body contortions!
