The New Year.......

I'm really bad about blogging about myself, but I'm going to give it a try.  I've finished very few quilty projects this year, I've gained and not lost weight, my housekeeping has go from bad to worse, and I've spent too much time whining about life instead of living it.

What I did do right was reach out to my friends, virtual and physical,  and I laughed and cried with them.  I'm learning to be a "little" better listerner (this is a family defect....grin), and I'm trying to keep my mouth shut when someone is getting too bossy, well at least SOME of the time.  I'm learning how not to argue when my Mom is trying to pick a fight with me.  These things seem so simple, but I've spent most of my 64 years reacting to others.  I try to forgive any injustices against me and just try not get offended in the first place.  I've even forgiven myself for my many shortcomings and there are many....now that's hard.

Right now I hear a redbird singing in the front birdbath.  He's reminding me that God loves me enough to share this beautiful bird with me.  For some reason in my life the redbird is a "reminder" of hope for me.

After having said all that, I'm being tested.  Someone is making way too much noise for me to concentrate on typing this blog..........LOL.......I guess I haven't made as much progress as I though, but laughing about it is also good.

Thank you Jesus for I would have not make it to Heaven on my own.......your totally unruly out-of-control Billie Beth............smile

Where's The Line for Jesus

My friend BJ had this posted on her blog with the following story from the songwriter.
Here’s the story behind the song:

While at the mall a couple of years ago, my then four year old nephew, Spencer, saw kids lined up to see Santa Claus. Having been taught as a toddler that Christmas is the holiday that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, he asked his mom, "where's the line to see Jesus"? My sister mentioned this to my dad, who immediately became inspired and jotted words down to a song in just a few minutes. After putting music to the words, and doing a quick recording at home, he received a great response from friends. He sent the song off to Nashville without much response, except for a Christian song writer who suggested adding a bridge at the end of the first chorus. My dad then asked if I wanted to record the song to see what we could do with it. I listened to the song, made a few changes to the words to make it flow better, and we headed to Shock City Studios. It was at the studio where Chris, owner and producer, rewrote the 2nd verse and part of the chorus... with goosebumps and emotions high, we were all hopeful and felt like we had something special. The demo was recorded in just under 2 hours and sent off again to Nashville... still no response. Then 2 weeks before Christmas last year, my cousins Greg and Robbie decided to do a video to see what we could accomplish on YouTube. The first day we had 3000 hits and it soared from there. We received e-mails, phone calls, Facebook messages from people all over asking for the music, CD's, iTunes, anything... we had nothin'. After a couple of meetings with Chris following the amazing response, we got serious. We headed back into the studio this past spring... this time with guitars, drums, bass, pianos, choirs... the real deal.... and here we are today. Getting iTunes set up, a website put together, and loving that thousands upon thousands of Christians have come together... remembering the true meaning of Christmas. Out of the mouths of babes come profound truths that many adults can not understand. Hopefully Spencer's observation will cause people all over to reflect on the love of Jesus, and that one day we will all stand in line to see Him. We are most thankful to our Heavenly Father to have this chance to share our music with you. Merry Christmas everyone.

Wonderful!.....billie

MeooooooooooooooW!

Mandy at Simply Solids had this posted on her blog.  It was way too funny to pass up....enjoy.

.......................................

Congratulations Great Aunt Kathy!

.........................................

Thanks for the party Carol and all the Blue Bonnet Gals!  I had a great time.

Wake up, Wake up...BillieBee!

I'm a very late sleeper.  I go to bed around 1 or 2 a.m. and normally sleep to 10:30ish.  Normal morning activities are not usually my thing.  Today I'm going to our quilty groups Christmas party at 10 a.m.  It did take some prodding from my friend Carol to get me to commit to this.........about 40 emails....LOL.

I love these gals, but I also like to sleep.  I did try to get to bed early to no avail.  I blame my Mom and why not, she says she has broad shoulders.....giggle....and she does.  She used to let me stay up late with her watching old Clark Cable movies.  Now that was one good looking man!  Wow!  That's a great memory with Mom.  I guess I'm reallyyyyyyy getting old, because even memories of Rhett Butler aren't waking me up this morning.  Off for one more cup of coffee and to roll this messy hair.

Everyone have a GREAT Day!

This is MY Story...............Blessed Assurance

Praise is the one thing that keeps me connected to God especially when times are bad.  I thought of so many, many things to be thankful for on this upcoming Thanksgiving.  If I had to pick one thing, it would be our freedom to Praise Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Never enough storage......Stashing my Stash

My sweet husband bought this for me for my upcoming birthday.  I found it at Pier 1.  You can see through the little holes that it is already full of fabric.  More places to stash my stash!!!  I put it in the extra bedroom my daughter redecorated for me a couple of years ago.  Orginally it was filled with several hundred beanies...yes I'm a kid at heart.

Now all I need in here is a flat screen TV!

The colors didn't photograph too well.  It's done in browns, taupes, creams, and white.  Her favorite colors.  Not a beanie in site!

I should have waited to take the pictures after she made the bed.  I have trouble getting the pillows even.

Shelley.............come fix my pillows....LOL.
