Applique Thursday

Remembering Annabelle
Very little sewn this week.  One more Flower and I worked really hard to get the camera strap in this picture....NOT.
I might have to sew some beads on this or eyeballs for the birds.  Solids just aren't my thing.  Sure looked good on the pattern.
Applique Thursdays
Don't forget to connect up with Applique Thursday.  It doesn't really have to be applique.

Blogger's Quilt Festival

Blogger's Quilt Festival
(This link works on draft, but not on preview.  Don't ask me why.  You can click on the button on my right sidebar that matches the above button)
I decided since I actually had a finish this year I would participate.
Here is my pillow from the Honeycomb SAL.
I probably am the winner of all UFOs, so when I actually finished this I was soooo excited with myself......giggle.
I wasn't sure what category to put this in so a friend suggested the Hand Quilted Category  My pillow has a little of everything here including hand quilting.
Well, there you go a finish for me.

OMGosh....I've been looking in my Archives.

Angie at A Quilting Reader's Garden is have a giveaway today.  The question to answer is, "What is your favorite Charity quilt pattern?"  I've only sew one for the Downy Quilts for kids.  I'm rarely good at finishing a project as most of my followers know, so this was the only one I made.
Too much pressure for the old lady.
I started my blog a little after I finished this quilt.  Looks like it didn't make it to the blog.  What I did find was many of the UFOs, I've totally forgotten about.  I'm sure they are tucked into some corner of this house  :D :D
It also made me very sad to see some of my loving pups and kitties photos, I've lost along the way.  I'm so hoping all of my sweet babies are waiting for me.  I know that's silly, but I still miss them all dearly!
Enough of that!  Hop over to Angie's for the Giveaway! and link up some eye candy.
Have a great week.  If I don't get off this computer and sew, I'll have nothing else to post.

Slow Sunday Stitching......

Remembering Annabelle
I finished my last bird today.  Now I can go back to my crooked flowers....giggle.  Well the crooked stems are for flowers and the wind IS blowing, I'm sure.

Let's Play Hexie Friday

Two More for me.
No kitty Elly today.  Every time I started to take a picture she would head for the camera.
Sorry I'm late posting today.  Don't forget to head to see Angie's Hexies at A Quilting Reader's Garden.   I just took a peek at hers and they are gorgeous.  I think she told me hers are 1/2 inch.

Missing Freddy and Doug...

Sure missing a couple of old Texas.  The last time we saw them was at the Broken Spoke.  They were doing a promotion for A Little Bit of Nada.  We had fun singing along on the chorus.  We got their autographs which I have in a safe place somewhere :)

Actually the first time I met Doug Sahm, I was about 15, but that's a whole other story...giggle.

We had a couple of foxes walk through the backyard today, but we haven't had any baby foxes in our yard in a long time.  I so love to watch them play.....from a distance.
Some of the neighbors feed them, so I guess they are going where the goodies are.

Hexie Friday......................

Elly looking for my little star hexie :D
I keep switching methods from paper to card stock from thread to glue.  Still not sure which I like the best....leaning toward thread not sewn through the paper or card stock.
I kept gluing myself to the star :)

Blockbase SAL Finished Top

Finished Flimsy
I'm not going to add borders, but just bind it in one or more of the colors.
Without the Inspector.
The top looked like it was sitting perfectly smooth on the floor.  The camera says otherwise.  Definitely needs another press.
BlockBase Sew Along Blog Badge
I've been trying to figure this out all day and am now going to bed.
Nighty Night

Star Flower Pattern Giveaway and Hexie Fun!

Playing with my Hexies!!
I was admiring Angie's hexie at A Quilting Reader's Garden and telling her about my hexies or lack there of.....grin.  She suggested we make a hexie every Friday to help keep us on track.
Sounded good to me.  After all, Angie's Applique Thursday helped me finish my Snowbound top.
I bought this pattern from Regina Grewe in 2010.  I can't believe it's been that long...giggle.  This  definitely qualifies as a UFO.  Here are a couple of pictures from Regina's webpage.
Regina's Star Flower quilt is gorgeous!!
Well there you go!  Angie and I will be making hexie's and posting them on Fridays.  Sew along if you pressure here.....just sew for the fun of it.
As an encouraging bonus to sew some hexie's of your own, I'm having a giveaway.  I'm giving away two of Regina's lovely Star Flower patterns.  The patterns will be sent as a PDF file directly from Regina.  No hoops to jump through.  Just leave a happy comment.
A couple of my rare blooms...giggle....because of my brown thumb.
a Road Runner.  I'm really hoping he is eating a baby copperhead.
Have a great weekend!!
Edited to post winners:
Congratulations to Sophie and Rosa the winners of the PDF Star Flower Pattern.
I've sent each of you an email.
