I DID it!.....giggle
I sewed my 30 minutes a day and then a little for the first week of March.
Here are my results!
Block 20 for The Ben Franklin Mystery at Erik Homemade
~~~~~~~~~~
Next was the March Block from The Hexie Blog QAL.
This is just laying on the possible background.
~~~~~~~~~~
I started a new project The Gypsy Wife.
I was suppose to use 4 fabrics to make the Color Wheel block and only used two. I think I just lost the flavor of the quilt. Maybe I'll make a new block or I can rename it the Gypsy's Wife (whose not a Gypsy) and keep it plain....giggle.
I think I'm going to have to work on sewing on the wild side. This is so strange, because I lived on the wild side until I got a brain. I need to try to relive my youth through my fabrics.
The Gypsy or Gypsy's Wife will be my new start for March if I remember to post it.

And of course a picture of my helper. Yep, Elly is annoyed with me for sure.
No more Jello (photos) for me Mom!

I'll be linking up with the following blogs. Come check out all the eye candy.

oh billie the block of the two fabrics on your gypsy's wife is beautiful, they make a great complment to each other, you know it takes two to make a marriage work, and I feel you showed that in this block.....
I really like the fabric choices in the Ben Franklin block. You got a lot done in a week!
well done...and remember there are no rules that can't be broken...so just go with your gypsy block
I think you have to disengage your brain to use scads of colour in any quilt. I seem to manage that quite successfully with most of mine so you just go for it girlfriend!
I totally understand the Gypsy Wife thing, I have a hard time living on the "wild" side too, good luck in finding your inner wild fabric mixer.
I like your block Billie - I think that is what distracts from the overall look of the Gypsy quilt - Too much color.
You are sew busy! I have been enjoying reading your blog tonight and following some of the links ... and your very pretty kitty ... thanks for sharing ... :) Pat
I agree about the Gypsy being a bit busy with all that color and prints. Really like your only two color block much better! Very nice progress for week 1.
Wonderful material for your Ben quilt. It is so pretty. You spent lot of time sewing this week. Congratulations on all you did this week.
Kathleen Mary
you certainly got a lot done in your challenge
Beautiful blocks Billie !
You have some wonderful blocks here!
You have been busy and productive! Well done!
Always love to see your weekly progress on the Ben Franklin Mystery quilt, Billie! Love those hexies, too! Why don't you make your second block for the Gypsy Wife and see which one you like the best, and then go (wild) with it, either way?
What a great week for you, Billie! I agree that your Gypsy Wife block is a little less wild than the example, but what would it look like in a more muted or low volume palate? Might be worth finding out!
Hi Billie, love your Ben Franklin block - what rich colours! Yup, I like your gypsy block but you did go a little sedate :-) Enjoy week 2!
I think the two color block will slide right into the gypsy wife and never even notice it didn't have four colors. Love the Ben Franklin best!
I saw Gypsy Wife at Road to California and fell in love with it too. Fortunately, they were out of the pattern book. My GA is looking out for me. Maybe later in the year. I think that block will fit right in. Love the Franklin block.
You've done a lot and it's great!
Way to go Billie! I knew you could do it! Keep up the great stitchin' instead of doing you know what! LOL
I like the March Hexie on white !
Gypsy Wife is an awesome undertaking, especially if it revives the rowdy ;-)
I say let your gypsy be as quiet as she wants to be. :D Maybe she just finally got her babe asleep or something. Heh! Ben's got to be getting pretty close to finished now - or does he have a gazillion blocks? It's always boosting to see your work progress, Billie :D
All quite lovely! I remember last year telling myself " just do one length of thread per day " / this stuff works! :)
Ah, dare to be different, my friend..go with what you like for your Gypsy!
What a beautiful Ben Franklin block and that Hexie block is so stunning and unusual!
The Gypsy quilt is going to be a great reflection of YOU and that is what matters most. Because every quilt tells a story your voice and heart should be "heard" thru this quilt. So I say use the fabrics you love! (grin)
I really like the 2 fabrics in your Gypsy's Wife block. Very pretty block.
Good job on this. That is a pretty block.
