It's Crooked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Block 11

I didn't have enough of the pointed plaid fabric to do the two long strips.  Soooo like a good soldier I ordered some more.  You can see I cut it straight on the left and right of the 6 1/2 inch strips, but it still came out crooked and the fabric is darker..............hmmmmmm
I will not let this bother me, I willl NOTTTT let this bother me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I've lost it.

I think it is a beautiful block! Working with checks is always tricky, but I'm pretty sure the quilt police won't notice anything askew. I actually had to look at it a few time to see what you it!

it's fine, but yeah checks are tricky, they should call them trecks instead...... You are looking at the one block close up and it bothers you, wait until the whole thing is done, then in the big sceme of things it won't look bad.

You have some good advice already. A difficult fabric pattern to play with for sure. Maybe do the block with a different fabric in the long cuts and use the check in small spots so you don't have those long sewing lines.

I had to look very hard to see what you were talking about...girl, don't sweat it, when the quilt is together you'll never know it! I think it's wonderful!

You are not alone - ;)) I hardly ever can cut checks and stripes straight - even when they are printed straight. And if I DO manage to cut them straight - I can't SEW them straight - so I don't even bother any more. I cut stripes crosswise - and plaids on the bias - or just plain "wonky" - depending on my mood. And I had to look twice to see what you were talking about - so it's not as obvious as you might think. ;))

Most of my quilting is crooked. LOL. So my quilt is just like me "not perfect". No amount of practice is gonna help me or a quilt but I have fun trying.
