One Monthly Goal

I did meet my goal for August, but barely.  I planned on doing more, but have a big booboo on my knee.

I heard a noise in the garage, hopped up from my computer chair, caught my big toe in the hem of my boot leg leggings, and bam down on my right knee first and then everywhere else.

I screamed for Big Mick to come help me, but he was sleep watching TV with his earphones on.  It then took a while to wake him.  Plus he has a hearing loss.

Even with him here, looks like maybe I need one of those buttons around my neck to call for help or maybe just a whistle.....giggle.

It swelled up about 4 inches above and below my knee.  The swelling is almost down, but very black and blue even on the back of the knee.  It happened several days ago, but that sucker still hurts.

My sewing is set up so I have to get up to iron a seam.  The thought was I would get at least a little exercise.  If I did, it didn't help much.

So I'm just sitting around whining a lot (Grin).

I'm sure after the Hurricane, I'll be back at it.  We are in Elgin, Texas.  The first feeder from Harvey is close, but might not get us with that batch of rain, but the wind is blowing.

The prediction is any where from 4 to 20 inches for Bastrop county.  That's not very specific.

I guess maybe 8 inches, of course, that might be wishful thinking.

We are as prepared as you can get.

One Monthly Goal

This little guy eats lunch with my daughter most everyday.  He's soooo cute.  Her lunch mates don't appreciate him.

What a face!!

Everyone in Texas stay safe and leave if you need to.

Prayers for all in Harvey's path.

Stay safe with the hurricane. I live in FL and we know what hurricanes can do.

Hope your knee is feeling better by now. Just keep on stitching even if you do have to get up and press.

och sounds lie a nasty injury you have there. A whistle would work well and worth thinking about to get DHs attention.
Thinking abut you all in Texas here we were told you would be getting 35" of rain cannot imagine for one second what that would be like, batten up and stay safe a good excuse to stay in and sew hopefully the electricity will not be effected so the machine will work

I was wondering if youd be in the thrall of the weather, fingers crossed it whips right past you all there.
Gosh falls are a common as we age aren't they and bruises seem to be so much more colourful than when I was younger?
I opened the top cupboard door to find a big can of beans on its way out and down and it caught me bang on the instep.
It swelled up, formed a solid lump and was every shade of purple you can imagine lol
Then, whilst chasing the cat, who was chasing a mouse, IN MY BACK ROOM! -
I lunged to catch him, with mouse in his mouth and my ankle gave way, so I careered into and over the ironing board lol
I held onto both animals though and they went out the back door unceremoniously.
Leaving me with huge bruises up both arms, battered knees but mouse, iron and ironing board all survived!
Theres clearly a downside to those headphones Mick has LOLOL
Hope you mend fast and the knee has no lasting damage to it.

Hope your knee is better every day! We don't heal like we used to! My daughter is even closer to the storm, but except for mountains of rain, it hasn't been too bad for her. Boy, parts of Houston have really taken a hit! And it's supposed to rain through Friday? Houston is all they show on the news up here. I wonder how things are in Corpus?

I'm glad to know you are prepared - I'd expect nothing less, but it's good to have confirmation. I hope it isn't more than the 8 you are thinking. I'm so sorry to hear about your fall. Those things are so painful, and I know that I always try to twist my body to avoid falling on my face, and then my back hurts like the dickens! I hope you are getting back to sewing today and the pain is less.

Oh, gosh, Billie!! I'm so sorry about your knee. What a time for it to happen, too. I bet the storm's pressure made it hurt more. :( Are you guys OK from the hurricane? Do you have flooding where you are, or are you far-enough inland to escape it?
