Has it really been 8 years??

Since we packed a suitcase for a trip

for just the two of us.

There's my Chauffer

We stayed at the Hyatt on the Riverwalk in

San Antonio.

There are two water bottles on the right of the TV.  If you pick them up, you are automatically charged.  Good thing my daughter warned us.

Pretty nice digs.

Big Mick had my daughter make the reservations as a surprise for me.  On Wednesday before we left, my Mom had another fall.  As we were rushing to the hospital in Austin, Mick told me about the reservations.  I thought he was pulling my leg....as usual.

My brother stayed with Mom for two days while we partied.  At our age that is lots of beer and tacos.
We did have fun, and it was so nice to be just the two of us again.

We came back to Mom's for a few days, and packed her up and brought her home to our house.  She had lots of brusies and a small crack to one rib that is still hurting.

Guess we get to party again when I'm 72..........I'll be using Mom's walker by then.....grin.

I wondered why you were missing in action - what a nice surprise. 8yrs. is too long my dear. Hope your Mom heals well - you have her with you to keep her safe and that is good. Thank heavens she didn't break a hip. Happy Mothers Day to your and her.

Glad you could get away. Good tip on those water bottles! It's been six years here. My husband travels a lot on business and I used to go along, we'd add days and do some sightseeing. But these last few years, my trips have been to Iowa to my folks. I would love a trip to some sunny destination but guess what?....Iowa is where I'll be headed in a couple weeks. :-) "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose".......and that's the way it goes.....
