Don't despair, just take a look at some antique quilts and look how wonderful they are even though they've done the same thing!!! Matchy matchy is a relatively modern quilt invention. Your blocks are just wonderful and you are going to love cuddling under that quilt, Billie.

Love your new potholder - perfect fabric for it! I don't care if my face scares little children. I don't care about a lot of things that used to fret me - including using two different backgrounds on the blocks of a quilt. So what? =) It's a gorgeous quilt and anyone who says differently can ... well, get lost! LOL Love your potholder. It doesn't need another thing done to it. In the many decades to follow and many of your off spring will look at it and marvel besides wonder why Grandma did that and isn't it lovely! So unpredictable and avant garde!

For the Q-1 FAL I slated to make some potholders and I noticed the useful shape yours was so I printed out a picture of yours to use when I go to work it up this week. You mean I'm not the only one that cuts things out several times to get it right and I too have used two different whites in blocks only to find out 20 blocks later they aren't the same! I don't think I have ever had a quilt come out the same size as the pattern originally states no matter how many times I check for that exact quarter inch! I have finally decided the quilt police to do not need to look at my quilts they are for people to love, wash and use up so I can make them another one.
